Terms and Conditions

I. Introduction

  1. Mission and Purpose
    • The NSRC Volunteerism Website (Site) is an interactive site that allows users to search for civic engagements in the UP community where they can volunteer.
  2. Scope and Intent
    • The Terms and Conditions of Service ("T&C”) shall contain the general policies of the Site and govern your use of the Site. By agreeing to the invitation of NSRC, the T&C shall be reviewed and understood by you, therefore constituting an agreement between you and NSRC. The website may notify you through email to inform you of any revisions in these Terms and Conditions.
    • Services Eligibility
      • By accepting the invitation for Site access, you agree that:
        • You are of legal age, or have written consent from a legal guardian or parent if otherwise.
        • You are an organization or government agency (other than a military or intelligence agency) aiming to increase civic participation in the country
        • You will contribute towards maintaining the platform as a safe space free from violence, illegal activities, and all forms of hate and discrimination
      • By accessing the Site, regardless of whether you are a registered user or otherwise, you agree to enter into a legally binding agreement with NSRC to comply with these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions or our Privacy Policy, you should not use, register for, access, or view the Site or any of its Services.
  3. Services Offered
    • The NSRC website offers services that would allow organizations and individuals to forward their advocacies that are in service to the underprivileged, marginalized, and vulnerable sectors. These services include, but are not limited to:
      • Database of Partner organizations - NSRC website maintains information about organizations who agreed to partner with NSRC in this endeavor and their available volunteer opportunities. Focal persons of partner organizations can register to the website and submit opportunities for civic engagement. You will be able to set preferences on the number of individuals who could be part of your initiative. Anyone who visits the site would be able to view the profile of partner organizations as well as their listings.
      • Database of Individual users - This database contains information that is voluntarily shared by individual users which may include their personal information, interests and advocacies, location and other relevant information. If you are an individual, you may create a profile to be stored in the database.
      • Other Connecting Services - by volunteering to an event, you grant the organizer the permission to view your name, email address, and contact information for them to be able to contact you for further information regarding the event.

II. Your Rights and Obligations

  • In exchange for your right to use our Site and Services, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
    1. Agreement and Applicable Laws
      • You agree to comply with all applicable laws, these Terms and Conditions, and our Privacy Policy.
    2. Content and Ownership
      • As an aggregator platform for civic engagements or volunteer opportunities, the information made available by the Site is provided by its users which entails responsibility for the legitimacy, accuracy, reliability, and publicity of information.
    3. License and Use of Content
      • All of the information posted in this platform is disseminated through various means including email alerts and social media posts. Other information such as volunteer listings and partner organizations’ profiles are visible to individuals who are not registered to the site. By submitting content through this Site, you agree to grant NSRC a non-exclusive, worldwide, assignable, sub-licensable, and royalty-free right that permits us to copy, distribute, publish, remove, retain, and use your content or information without any further consent, notice or compensation for the sole purpose of enabling us to provide you with its Services in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
      • Information and materials acquired through this site shall not be altered, copied or used for commercial purposes. Authors shall also receive proper attribution for the materials that they have produced. To ensure the quality of our content, NSRC reserves the right to remove content that violates provisions of these Terms and Conditions, Agreements, or any applicable laws. Users may request that NSRC remove content that they have provided. However, the NSRC has no control over shared information that has been subsequently copied or stored by other parties.

III. Interpretation and Definitions

  1. Interpretation
    • The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.
  2. Definitions
    • For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:
      • Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.
      • Country refers to: Philippines
      • Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to the NSTP Diliman Office.
      • Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
      • Service refers to the Website.
      • Terms and Conditions (also referred as "Terms") mean these Terms and Conditions that form the entire agreement between You and the Company regarding the use of the Service.
      • Website refers to NSRC Volunteerism Website, accessible from nsrc.nstp.upd.edu.ph.
      • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

IV. Acknowledgment

  • These are the Terms and Conditions governing the use of this Service and the agreement that operates between You and the Company. These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and obligations of all users regarding the use of the Service.
  • Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on Your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.
  • By accessing or using the Service You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If You disagree with any part of these Terms and Conditions then You may not access the Service.
  • You represent that you are of legal age, or have written consent from a legal guardian or parent if otherwise. The Company does not permit those under 18 to use the Service without the necessary permission of a consenting authority.
  • Your access to and use of the Service is also conditioned on Your acceptance of and compliance with the Privacy Policy of the Company. Our Privacy Policy describes - Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your personal information when You use the Application or the Website and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You. Please read Our Privacy Policy carefully before using Our Service.

V. Links to Other Websites

  • Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Company.
  • The Company has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that the Company shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services.
  • We strongly advise You to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party web sites or services that You visit.

VI. Termination

  • We may terminate or suspend Your access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason including, but not limited to:
    1. obtaining or attempting to obtain unauthorized access to the Site’s system or data;
    2. pretending to be another person or entity with the intent to forge or manipulate any data transmitted or made available to the Service;
    3. posting content deemed inappropriate by this Terms and Conditions;
    4. extracting personal and sensitive information of other users;
    5. violating any or all laws and policies governing the Service;
    6. committing a breach of these Terms and Conditions
  • Upon termination, Your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

VII. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Company or its suppliers be liable for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, loss of data or other information, for business interruption, for personal injury, loss of privacy arising out of or in any way related to the use of or inability to use the Service, third-party software and/or third-party hardware used with the Service, or otherwise in connection with any provision of this Terms), even if the Company or any supplier has been advised of the possibility of such damages and even if the remedy fails of its essential purpose.
  • Some courts may not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, which means that some of the above limitations may not apply. In these courts, each party's liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

VIII. Disputes Resolution

  • If You have any concern or dispute about the Service, You agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the NSRC Office via the details provided below.

IX. Severability and Waiver

  • Severability
    • If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
  • Waiver
    • Except as provided herein, the failure to exercise a right or to require performance of an obligation under these Terms shall not affect a party's ability to exercise such right or require such performance at any time thereafter nor shall the waiver of a breach constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.

X. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

  • We reserve the right, at Our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material We will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at Our sole discretion.
  • By continuing to access or use Our Service after those revisions become effective, You agree to be bound by the revised terms. If You do not agree to the new terms, in whole or in part, please stop using the website and the Service.
